Antiochian-Jacobite Succession Line
(Vilatte Line)

The Church of Antioch can be traced from Jerusalem from where the Apostles went forth healing, preaching and so on. The first established church was the Syrian Church of Antioch, founded by St. Peter about A. D. 38 He reigned as a Bishop and Patriarch for six years before he became the Bishop of Rome and founder of the Roman Catholic Church. Antioch is regarded as the Mother-Church of Gentile Christianity.

In various cases Bishops consecrated in the Antiochian Lineage has been admitted to Bishop seats in the Roman Catholic Church without reconsecrations.
